The historic Byrd Theater opened in 1928 as a silent film-only theater. The Wurlitzer Organ made for silent films is a one-person orchestra and is still in operation today. The Wurlitzer Organ still sits in the front of the interior of the theater. The Byrd Theater is located in the busy Carytown neighborhood, in Richmond, Virginia
