Young curled fern frongs are known as Fiddlehead ferns. They are called Fiddlehead ferns because they resemble the end of a violin or fiddle. Fiddlehead ferns are edible and are harvested in the spring.
I found these curled frond ferns in the garden at Richmond Hill, in Richmond, Virginia. I've added a texture to compliment this young fern
