Description
Historic Shirley was founded 1613, along the north banks of the James River in Charles City, Virginia. Historic Shirley is still a working farm with a crop rotation of wheat, soybean, corn and cotton.
The plantation was added to the National Register in 1969 and declared a National Historic Landmark in 1970.
Why are we always captivated by lone trees in fields? On this summer evening a lone tree was surrounded by a golden wheat field under blue skies with white clouds caught my eye
