Description
Ornamental grasses blooms are known for their graceful beauty and delicate appearance. It is known as maiden ornamental grass and silver grass. The blooms emerge in late summer or early fall that add a touch of elegance to the landscape. The blooms are airy, feathery plumes that sway in a breeze.
One of the features of the silver ornamental grass blooms is their shimmering silver hue in the sunlight. The plumes are a soft, pale white or cream color with a hint of sparkle. The plumes are long and slender, appearing to be delicate feathers that arch upward adding height to a garden or landscape. The plumes retain their silvery sheen and texture, even when the foliage begins to transition to late autumn.
I photographed these silver grasses at the Arboretum Business Park on a late evening when the sun highlighted the plumes that created a black background. The Arboretum Business Park in located in North Chesterfield, Virginia
