Description
The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, often referred to as The Guggenheim is an art museum located on the Upper East Side neighborhood in Manhattan, New York City. The cylindrical building is wider at the top than the bottom.
I am fascinated by Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture designs, so I set out to see the interior of The Guggenheim Museum. The interior has a unique ramp gallery that extends from the ground level to a long continuous spiral along the outer edges of the building to end just under the ceiling skylight.
When you enter the building the low ceiling opens into the rotunda and your eyes are drawn up to the skylight, 96 feet above. The spiral ramp hides the artwork. The main rotunda is the heart of the Guggenheim Museum
There were plenty of tourists in the atrium who like me stood there in attempt to get an image of the unique spiral with the skylight exposed with the blue sky. If and when it is ever safe, I would love to visit The Guggenheim Museum again and spend more time enjoying the wonderful
